Engaging Communities: Multiplier Events for European Democracy

May 22, 2024 | Activities with EP Candidates, Italy

As part of the “Changemakers for European Democracy” project, three impactful multiplier events were organized in Italy by TDM 2000 International to engage local and international audiences.

The first event took place on December 15, 2023, at Sa Manifattura in Cagliari, gathering 40 young locals. It featured a presentation of the project partners and updates on ongoing activities.

The second event, held on February 14, 2024, also at Sa Manifattura, drew around 60 attendees, including international guests. With Sardinia’s EP candidates yet to be announced, the event instead hosted candidates for the Sardinian regional elections. Representatives from all political parties were invited, and candidates Maria Laura Orrù and Stefania Loi participated. A local press conference was also held during the event.

The final multiplier event was a round table on May 23, 2024, at Hotel Regina Margherita.
This event was open to the public and attracted around 20 participants. The discussion featured Angela Maria Quaquero (EP candidate from S&D), Antonio Mura (Europe Direct), Gabriele Frongia (Sardegnagol), and local changemaker Irisa Hasani. Topics included the EU, upcoming elections, and youth participation, followed by a Q&A session. These events played a crucial role in fostering dialogue and encouraging active democratic participation among diverse groups.
