Our Mission
Voting is not just a right, it’s your chance to shape the future!
In today’s world, where trust in the European Union may be shaky, and young voices often feel left out of the conversation, seven dynamic NGOs from across Europe have come together to create a positive change.
Did you know that in the last European Parliament elections in 2019, only 50.66% of eligible voters actually cast their ballots?
To tackle this challenge head-on, TDM 2000 International (Italy), TDM 2000 Estonia (Estonia), Global Citizens Academy (Lithuania), TDM Malta (Malta), TDM Portugal (Portugal), Active Zone Outdoor (Cyprus), and SIEDAS (Slovakia) have launched the ‘Changemakers for European Democracy’ project!
With this project, we aim to boost European democracy and citizenship on a continental level. We want to create a political community of active European and transnational citizens and make a real impact on European policy.

Changemakers
What we do
We explore democracy through school discussions, EU simulations, flash mobs for awareness, and direct talks with EP candidates. Let’s empower and inspire change together!
School Visits
We organize educational school visits to discuss with the students the importance of voting, democracy, and active citizenship through different interactive activities.
Flash Mobs
We are holding flash mobs in all partner countries to boost public awareness about the importance of voting among people from the local communities.
European Parliament Simulations
We are offering a chance for young people in all 7 partner countries to take part in EP simulations in order to explore the decision-making processes in the EU.
Election candidates
We are hosting local activities where citizens can directly engage with EP candidates, share their views and drive change in light of the upcoming elections.
Our Changemakers
Our changemakers are 70 active individuals who will help in the activities of the project. Together, they will change their local reality and create a political community of active citizens to promote European Democracy.
Not everyone as an individual may be consciously aware of what the EU brings to us, so I am glad that thanks to the “Changemakers for European Democracy” project I can help spread awareness about the EU, its importance and I can motivate people to participate in the democratic processes of the EU (...)

As part of the "Multiplier events" activities, a discussion on "Women in Politics"😊 took place at the European Union House in Bratislava on 28.6.2024. At the end of the discussion, people had the opportunity to directly ask the questions 🗣 they were interested in. During the discussion we looked at 👉 the position of women in politics, the newly elected MEP gave us an insight into her motivation in this area and what she wants to stand for in the European Parliament and much more.

This experience allowed the participants to gain an even deeper understanding of the decision-making processes and working mechanisms of the European Union. 🏛️🤝
🇪🇺 The most important part of the day was an engaging role-play simulation where participants took the roles of Members of the European Parliament. Divided into political groups, they tried to solve a complex crisis scenario, collecting information and negotiating solutions to form a cohesive political agenda.
