Engaging Activities for Students in Sardinia

Feb 5, 2024 | Italy, School Visits

TDM 2000 International has actively been engaging local students in Sardinia in activities to improve their understanding of the European Union, its values and decision-making processes. Several educational visits have been organized across the island, including in Cagliari, Oristano, and Terralba.

The visits have featured informative sessions covering the different EU institutions, their functions and policies, which have allowed the students to gain more insights into the role of the EU in their daily lives. The students have engaged in diverse interactive activities, such as quizzes on EU history, debates about the advantages and disadvantages of the EU, as well as the “Where Do You Stand?” activity, which aims to foster discussions on young people’s perspectives on different topics, such as democracy, youth participation, active citizenship, and others. The activities have also included exercises such as simulated voting, which encouraged students to reflect on their opinions and understand decision-making processes in the Union.

Through raising awareness and encouraging active participation, the “Changemakers for European Democracy” is giving students in Sardinia and other project partner countries the opportunity to become more engaged within the European community.
